It has definitely been fun to plan and schedule another Spirit Month. I love watching the creativity and resourcefulness of my students (and the other kids). Our first Friday, February 23rd, we did “Ninja/Warrior Day.” Can you guess which of my students voted for that one? I will give you a hint: they are male. 🙂 For this one I had to borrow some bamboo sticks from one of the missionaries who practices martial arts and some throwing stars from my brother. I think the most creative costume went to the Woodley’s: they dressed up like Ninja Turtles! I would never have thought of that.

For the second Friday, March 2nd, the theme was “Monster Day.” I couldn’t resist and came as the Cookie Monster…one of my students lent me her shirt. And plus, getting to eat Oreos was a blast. I really loved seeing the creativity on this day. We had everything from a Minotaur (Chronicles of Narnia) to Mike Wasouski and Sully (Monster’s Inc.) to Vampire bat and werewolves. There is always lots of laughter and compliments when we all get together to share our costumes! And we always have a few of the nationals laughing and taking pictures of us as well. (We have two more Friday’s in March where we will be dressing up and I will write a post about those at the end of the month.)
